‘Help! I Wrecked My House’ Season 4, Episode 11 & 12: Sophisticated & Contemporary

‘Help! I Wrecked My House’ Season 4, Episode 11 & 12: Sophisticated & Contemporary

Project Overview:

THE HOMEOWNER:

Zoey and Nick

THE BUDGET:

$135K for the upstairs

$50K for the downstairs

THE STORY:

Zoey and Nick purchased their home 13.5 years ago and they’ve been working on it ever since. They loved the view and location of the home but there were a few things they didn’t like about the house. They successfully remodeled the kitchen, laundry room, and a few other projects. Zoey was getting frustrated with the pace of renovating themselves and they soon started demo’ing more than they could handle. The house became unlivable and the family of five moved into an apartment for two years. The bottom line was, they needed a lot of help! And after having me and my team renovate the upstairs, it was apparent they needed help with the downstairs as well, leading us to tackle this big, two-story home project.

THE PLAN:

A lot of this renovation was cosmetic, especially since the family had done some work on their own. They actually had already purchased all of the flooring tile for the upstairs, which it’s never a good idea to buy materials until you have a design plan and are planning to install sooner than later. With a design style described as Contemporary Classic, it was clear they had trouble making design decisions together and agreeing with one another—which was unfortunately delaying their home renovation. My plan was to create a home where the family could spend time together, host celebrations, and most importantly finally enjoy.

The Inspiration:

Design Style: Contemporary Classic

  • I absolutely loved the final two episodes of season four. I thought it was bold but elegant, especially the black wallpaper on the dining room ceiling. Do you have a source for it? I didn’t see one in the guide.

  • Your work is amazing, Jasmine….love every single home you design. Can you post a picture of the stairwell….the paint choice with the color of the carpeting was so, so good.

  • I was wondering if you can provide the name and address of “Scott” Jasmine’s antique restorer. I have a 1960 floor to ceiling lamp that needs some work. I live in the SoCal area and was hoping to visit Scott’s shop and see if he could help with the project. Thanks for any help.

  • Hi Jasime I have been following you since you came to HGTV and I immediately knew you got it. I have a question on the last show January 17, 2024,I saw some gorgeous floor plants in the dining area that I would like to know what are those and where did get them. I hope you or a staff from your crew gets to see this request/comments. You are great and you look like a down to earth person. Best for you/family and crew for this new year. Thanks ❤️
